Estipona Group Hosting Mini-Golf Tournament to Benefit Homeless in the Truckee Meadows
What: As part of its #24Years24Deeds initiative, the Estipona Group is hosting a benefit miniature golf tournament. For a donation of $150, teams of four to six will receive 18 holes of mini golf, pizza, a pitcher of beer and prizes — of the silly variety, in keeping with the putt-putt theme. Each team is asked to come up with a clever team name and a costume theme to complement it (can be simple or more complex — just must allow for free movement of arms for mini-golf purposes). When: Thursday, June 1 | 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Magic Carpet Golf, 6925 S Virginia St, Reno, NV 89511
Why: The Estipona Group is committed to helping alleviate homelessness in northern Nevada. To support its goal, the agency has established a fund through the Community Foundation of Western Nevada to benefit two community organizations that serve local homeless populations. The first award will be made in January 2018, and tournament proceeds will be part of it.
“We call it ‘24 Years, 24 Deeds’ because the Estipona Group is committed to completing a good deed for every year we’ve been in business, “said Estipona Group president Edward Estipona. “This is a way to show our appreciation and deep sense of gratitude to the community that’s been the lifeblood of our business. Sometimes it takes more than just our team coming together to address our region’s most pressing problems, and this mini-golf tournament is just one way others can help contribute.”
