Nevada Division of Museums & History
The challenge
As the agency of record for the Nevada Division of Museums & History, Estipona Group was tasked with rebranding both the Division and the seven state museums that comprise it. While a standardized brand had previously been created, the individual museums had never embraced it and therefore were not using it. Staff members created marketing pieces at their discretion, and even within each museum, there was no consistency in execution We were charged with creating a strong, consistent statewide brand system that also recognized the individual personalities of the seven museums to gain buy-in from museum leadership.
The Division of Museums & History is a statewide brand. While there are seven unique museums, they are part of an organization with a single mission to preserve and share Nevada's history and heritage. Target audiences needed to understand each museum belonged to a larger brand, both to strengthen that brand awareness and to cross-promote visitation. For museum staff to support this new brand, we needed them to feel the logo represented their unique organization. Employing a simplified illustration style, we worked with museum leadership to develop unique icons that represented them while supporting the overall brand identity.
